History
Since their founding in 1991, the Tulsa Children's Chorus and the Tulsa Youth Chorale have made their presence known in Tulsa and surrounding communities. Below is a brief history of some of their most important happenings.

2008 |
We welcomed Katie Radeker, a
graduate of John Brown University as TCC's first-ever intern in
September, 2008.
Marjoleine Gravley, retired Middle and High School Choral
Director--Bartlesville Public Schools, was named as the new Artistic
Director and Concert Chorus Director in May, 2008.
Ginny LeDoux retired as
Artistic Director and Concert Chorus Director, conducting her final
concert on Friday, April 18, 2008. She is the founding Artistic
Director and Concert Chorus Director and had served for seventeen
years. All three choruses surprised Mrs. LeDoux with a tribute by
singing Cherokee Blessing. This traditional Cherokee blessing
was composed in honor of Mrs. LeDoux and the Tulsa Children's Chorus
by composer and musician, Eliot Glaser.

2007 |
Performed in the Oklahoma Time
Capsule Celebration, November 10 2007. Added articles including a
group photo and CDs to the time capsule, which will be opened in
fifty years. |
| 2006 |
Featured in Tulsa Ballet's
Carmina Burana, along with Tulsa Oratorio Chorus, October 10-12;
2006, and in the Statehood Day Interfaith Prayer Breakfast, November
16. Performed in The Great State of Oklahoma
Extravaganza Light Show, Fireworks and Centennial Gala, November 18;
and opened for Tony Bennett's Birthday Salute to Oklahoma Concert
November 19. To celebrate our 15th Anniversary
Concert, April 21, 2006, with the premiere of commissioned work by
composer Z. Randall Stroope at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center -
John Williams Theatre |

Became an independent organization, obtained 501(c)3 status and formed a Board of Directors which oversees the financial and operational business of the chorus |

Began a two-year residency program with Tulsa Junior College |

First offered as a class of the Community Arts School, which was a partnership between the Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa and the Tulsa Public Schools. There were 12 singers. |
